We all had several LLs when they were new and available.

I had the 389, 490 and 590...all 2 piece rods.

The reason why fly shop people do not have their old LLs is because none of us make the big bucks but we do get rods from the

manufacturers for 50% to 70% off with a limit per year. So every few years we can sell some rods and buy new ones with very little

cost. That way fly shop staff can have high end rods (reels, lines. waders, boots etc.) without having to forgo eating.


I had the Sage 500 series too. Had the 503, 504, 505, 506 and 508, but sold them to buy some newer stuff.
