We have a small second home in Sebastian, FL where we have gone to for 15 years in the winters.

16719

We have World class fishing here in fresh water for Florida strain Largemouth Bass and panfish.

16722

Down near Fort Lauderdale and Miami we have fresh water tropical Exotics too. Peacock Bass, Oscars, Cichlids and more.

We have the Sebastian river, one of best one mile away that has Tarpon (1# to 50 #), Snook, Jacks, Ladyfish and LMB.

16720

We are two miles from the famous Intercoastal water way, the brackish water of the Indian River Lagoon.

It is over 100 miles long and the average depth is 38 inches with 5 openings to the Atlantic ocean.

Our town in located on the famous Sebastian Inlet that has huge Snook, Redfish, and many other species.

16721

We have excellent offshore blue water fishing too for sailfish, marlin, King Mackerel, Cobia.....etc.

Our boat launches are many and free too. If you don't have at least one boat on your driveway nobody will talk to you.

Our town, Sebastian, is a serious fishing town. Some folks will have 3 or more boats on their property.

A 20' plus offshore center console with a 300 hp or more is very common.

Flats and bay boats from 16 to 20 feet are everywhere. Then you need a small Jon boat, some kayaks too.

Houses are going up now because lots of folks are moving to Florida now. They are still about 50% of what a home is in CA.

Lots of folks like Al Bunch @ Kiene's rent a home on the water with a skiff for one week to several months in FL.

A popular profile for fly fishers is to have a summer home in say Montana and a winter home in FL or the Gulf.

For baby Tarpon mid-summer is best.....June/July/August.

For Largemouth Bass I think March/April is very good.

There is fishing year round though......

Headed for Lakeport at Lake Okeechobee on Monday for some LMB.
If the wind stays down, should be a lot of fun.

Fantastic......I have seen some wonderful video of the bass fishing there.

That is less than 2 hours from us, here in Sebastian, FL.
