I was 77 degrees today with 9 mph wind and patchy clouds.

This was our second time on this famous LMB lake.

We fished only poppers made by Leo Gutterres, all day.

We had some missed takes and land about 6 bass.

I got a 5# 1 oz LMB on one of Leo's poppers.

This might be my personal best LMB on a top water fly.

We caught some smaller fish too. Steve's person best top water LMB is over 11 pounds in the CA Delta.

We used Sage LMB outfits with this popper Leo sent us to test for him.

When they ate this popper it was always deep inside their mouth.

This lake is loaded with wild shiners so it was a little like salt water fishing.

These bass are Florida strain and seem very fast and strong, busting bait violently on the top.

Big score! That is a very nice bass although maybe no big deal in Florida.

Steve Potter has videos on YouTube showing how to tie poppers. I would think he would be fishing his own bugs. Leo’s bugs must be really good if Steve Potter is fishing them.

We stopped by this new bait-n-tackle shop in Fellsmere, very near the new trophy Headwaters lake.

Pat, owner of Fellsmere Outdoor Adventures, has a huge selection of very popular lures.

They said that the largest bass recently was 11# 8 0z. on conventional tackle.
