Happy New Year. Got a couple small stripers yesterday out on the San Joaquin. Water temps stayed in 47 all day.

Commend you for putting lots of time on the water during the toughest part of the year. I can recall many seasons where by the end of February the water had come back to 55 degrees and stayed there and it really hit the fan. I have some great memories of early spring out there back in the day so hopefully you have some good fishing to look forward to.

I went out a week ago and did not touch a fish. Seems like getting anything right now is a pretty good day. If we get some warm days I might try a again.

Week before last I went to Discovery Bay and O'neill. I was sure I was going to slay them... I didn't get a bite either trip. I love the way fishing teaches me humility and patience (not really, but it sure puts me in my place...)
