Soft Hackle Question?

Good day,

I have always used partridge feathers for my soft hackling, how does CDC compare in efficiency? Twisting via split thread makes some buggy looking stuff.

It seems to work quite well. I'm lazy and just twist the CDC around the hook like a regular partridge soft hackle. One to two turns depending on how dense the barbules are.

CDC mixed in makes for some buggy bugs! I wouldn’t use it alone, but a wrap or two before your partridge is money!
