Somewhere on one of these posts someone mentioned they had an old licence. That immediately brought to mind my dad's old stuff too.

Here's his fishing licence from !926 and a picture of him fishing I think on the Consumnes. He's still wearing his old WW1 pants and boots.

There was always a saying printed on the back of licences then. Things like "Take your limit, but always limit how much you take".
or something like that.

That old license is a piece of art and history.

You should email it to the CA DF&W........?

Love the engraving on those older documents. Not many in existence any longer. I believe John H is the poster who entered the info about having an old license (Photography Forum??). Good photo of your father. The reel on that rod almost looks like bait caster....

This license is California, 1938. It came with a metal case that had a pin on the back so you could wear it on your shirt like a button. It belonged to Arlie Murphy of Los Angeles. He bought it at FM Hale Fishing Tackle and Ammo on Whittier Boulevard. I got it at an antique store in Lewiston.
