Braided Leaders

Does anyone have any insight on braided leaders.

Purchased a 6’ and 10’ 20 lb. and was wondering if I could ad a 12’ tapered 6x or 7x leader to

the 10’ braided on floating line. Any input much appreciated.

Make sure the butt of the tapered leader is smaller (~2/3 diameter) than the tip of the braided leader and try it on water with a similar fly.

John does not guide anymore but does make twisted (mono/FC) and furled (thread?) leaders.
