October is always good on the Upper Sacramento river.......!

Just got off the phone with Bob Grace in the Ted Fay Fly Shop in down town Dunsmuir......

Bob said they had a good summer with lots of anglers.

It was busy up there Labor Day as usual.

He said it will start to cool off with October always being good fishing up there .

Marilyn and I had a little cabin up there in Dunsmuir for 10 years across the street from veteran guide Fred Gordon.

We have many fond memories from our time up there but today in our 70s we are fishing from a boat.

When ever we head north up into Oregon we always stop and park our little motor home in Fred's front yard.

There are some large brown trout being caught on both the McCloud and the "lower" Upper Sac right now.

I am headed to Idaho for awhile otherwise I would be trying to fit a trip up there, though the air quality is a challenge.
