Took out my little skiff yesterday with a friend Mike, who is a good old East Coast surf caster.
We found a lot of Tarpon in the river feed on mullet on a big out going tide.
On a medium size spinning outfit with a DOA TerrorEze lure he hooked a 40-50# Tarpon.
It was a spectacular fight with 4 big jumps and then it broke off.
Mike said it was like being in a fishing movie with a big silver fish jumping like crazy.
A few months back Mike landed a new 10# Tarpon that jumped 8 times.
Mike is really psyched up now for Tarpon.
