I was taught how to whip finish by hand and did it that way for so long, it seems weird to me to use a whip finishing tool, even for very small flies.

I was taught By Ned Grey when I was 16. I used to go into his shop on Saturday mornings and watch a small group tie.
I misplace so many things today that if I had to use a tool, I'd end up having to tie half hitches. BobK
