Nice sparce tie. Did he say 14/0 thread? Most of my time at the vice for the last several years has been tying bass jigs with coats and Clark upholstery thread. Before that I never went any finer than 6/0 for anything down to size 20. What's the point of 14/0 for a size 14 fly?

6/0 on a size 20? You’ve definitely got different 6/0 thread to me if you can tie a size 20 with it.

14/0 is standard for dries 14 > 20 anything smaller than that and i’d use spider web type thread.
