Brian Chan is one of the important people up in Canada for their wonderful stillwater fisheries.

Here is an article I wrote after fishing the Kamloops area for a week in May some years ago with Chris Pasley.

I own the book Morris & Chan on Fly Fishing Trout Lakes by Skip Morris and Brian Chan. Definitely one of the better how to fly fish books that I have read.

I wish everyone could go to Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada to experience their wonderful shallow weedy lakes full of bugs and trout.

It is about 18 hours from Sacramento to Kamloops so it is a 2 to 3 day drive but there is lots of good fishing on the way.

On average May is the top month for fishing chironomids and June is the month for mayfly, caddis, dragon, scud and damsel activity.

Two anglers could get a room in Kamloops and drive out daily to over 200 lakes.

Camping or RVing is good so you can stay right on these lakes too.

There are some lakes with lodges, cabins and boat rentals too.

I am sure that if you emailed Brian Chan he would give you some directions to make your trip better.

I guess the border from the US into Canada is closed to everyone but Canadian citizen for now.

The best fly shop to stop in on the way to Kamloops area is "Trout Waters" in Kelowna, BC, CA.

This shop was recommended by Brian Chan and Chris Pasley..........no fly shop in Kamloops for now.
