I am posting some further information on the Valco P8 and TPL prams I have listed for sale based on questions I have received on the hulls.

Here are some weights for the prams I am selling and for another two I own as a comparison.

TPL 8ft fiberglass 48" beam = 77lbs
Valco P8 8ft aluminum 48" beam = 82lbs

Valco 8ft aluminum 54" beam = 92lbs
Almarco 10.5 minidrifter with 2 quarts graphite epoxy on the hull bottom = 115lbs

The Valcos will support me (about 225lbs) and a 3.5hp Mercury (~40lbs) on the transom, the TPL will too, but I don't recommend it especially if you're over 200lbs and without some ballast placed up in the bow. The Almarco 10.5' will not support me with the 3.5 Mercury without a large ballast of 50-80lbs placed at the bow of the boat. Water comes in the hand hold cut outs without a ballast up front. I don't recommend this setup. The Almarco will support me and a Minn Kota Endura C2 trolling motor with a deep cycle battery. Place the battery at the bow to maintain the largest amount of stern free board. Ditto for the TPL and the Endura C2 trolling motor with the battery up front.

Also attached is a photo comparison of the 48 inch beam P8 Valco versus the 54" beam Valco. The 48" is easier to wield solo to and from the truck and into tight launches or down dock gangways. Though only about 10lbs more, the 54"er is a bit of a beast to muscle around solo without the aid of a cart.

Hope the info is useful in general.
