Thanks for posting this link to a great video. I worked in this area for a year in 76-77 on a seismic exploration crew. We caught a lot of barramundi on gear, but I don't remember any black bass. Lots of big crocs in this area, some over 20 feet long. I had a Fenwick Voyager rod with me that I used to catch toothy pan fish in some smaller streams.

I worked for a seismic contracting company, Geophysical Service Inc (GSI), which no longer exists.

The Papuan Black Bass is without doubt the strongest pulling fish on the planet and anyone who fly fishes for them has my utmost respect.

I had never wore a stripping glove even in the saltwater until I went to Brazil for Peacock Bass. One of my greatest adventures.

I am sure they are needed for PNG Black Bass.

Also , the great Rod Harrison there ... and a young Dean Butler ?

The OZO guys know their stuff , and have broken a lot of ground as to how to take difficult Fishes .
