The Airflo Rage Compact is a floating head that is easier to turn over than most Scandi heads.

The Wulff Ambush is a full line and is popular in some areas for Single and Two Handed Spey casting.

In the Fall you can use a tapered leader the length of your rod

You can use the shorter Versi or Poly leaders on them to get down some with a shorter leader.

For winter Steelhead most use Skagit heads with Rio MOW tips and a short leader.

All of these line are going to be easier to get started with for most......

I have a Rage Compact 360 grain on my Echo TR Spey 4wt. I like it much better than the Rio Switch Chucker that I started out with. Oddly enough, it turns out that the Switch Chucker works great for throwing poppers on a fast single hand 7wt. Loads fast and punches it out
there nicely.

Yep, the Wulff Ambush is my floating line of choice for two hand roll casting a large 'cator (and heavy junk) @ Pyramid.

I'm not too fond of the memory/coiling problem in the cold water though......................:mad:
