It should come as no surprise that we had a great day swinging flies with Andy Guibord this past Sat, catching many juvenile (8-10') fish along with an adult (16") and something of decent size that came off before we could see it. Andy is truly an expert on both their holding spots and preferred techniques and found us these elusive fish despite them being very spread out and spotty right now. We were able to cover a large stretch of the river using his jet sled and really benefited from his insightful casting tips and advice. Fishing with Andy is a must for anyone who wants to learn this beautiful local fishery without spending the many seasons of trial and error usually required. Plus, he's just a great guy to fish with.

Andy has mentored hundreds of people and really impacted their fly fishing experience.

About 30 years ago we at the shop mentored Andy, now he mentors us......

Hey Billy -

While I absolutely love living in Northern Colorado, I do dearly miss Andy!

Best Regards, Bob

I always told people Andy was always on the customers side, not the shop, and we liked it that way.

Thanks, Gil. I would fish with you anywhere, any time. It was most pleasurable fishing with you and Chris- such great positive attitudes, many thanks.

I worked about 50 years in that area several miles North of the lower American River.

I fondly remember lots of lovely evening out there fishing before and after work on our special river.

If I recall that’s where you lost the big one a few years ago!
