Going to look at a boat Saturday, it's a G3 tunnel hull 1860. The owner has disclosed the boat was in an accident shortly after he bought it. It has a patch welded approximately 1'x4' along the rear port side. The patch/weld is warranted for life according to the owner who had it done at a local shop. The owner has discounted the boat appropriately and is taking me out on the boat Saturday.

Any reason not to consider the boat? The weld/patch looks good as does the rest of the boat and he says it hasn't leaked since he had it repaired.

It should be OK......as long as the price is good.

one nice thing about aluminum is the fact you can repair it. As long as the work is done well, its a non-issue.

Besides- chicks dig scars.

Might want to check with the shop first before buying to see if the warranty is transferable. Or does it end when he sells the boat?
