The days are getting shorter now.

I don't think we will see 100 degrees this month.

It is in the 50s at night.

I would guess the trout lakes at mid-elevations are starting to improve with October the peak.

Half-pounders and salmon in the lower Klamath and lower Rogue rivers should be getting better.

September was always Isonychia mayfly time for me on the Pit River until they raised the flow?

This is the start of the Steelhead run on the wonderful Deschutes River.

September is dry fly month in British Columbia, Canada for Steelhead.

July through October is Smallmouth Bass time in moving water in Nor Cal.

The lower Feather, Russian and Sacramento rivers all have a SMB population.

Fly fishing from a skiff is a big advantage on larger rivers and some use kayaks.

Guide Hogan Brown would be a good better north of Sacramento up the Valley.

South down in the Delta in would get out with Bryce Tedford.

Smallmouth Bass in moving water is a favorite fresh water species for many fly casters.

Still caddis popping at last light in Redding...

Bill, I met a gentleman last night on the river And enjoyed a chat with him when we got off the water. Dennis Scott asked me to give you his regards.

Either way it’s a great time of year- they forecast 99 for tomorrow, so it could happen.
