After 74 summers I am beginning to dislike days over 100 degrees.

Like I said before you can go to the coast or up over 6,000 feet to get cool.

This is the time to fish, crab and clam the coast of California.......July, Aug, Sept.

We are headed over to Tomales Bay on Aug. 26

This is also the time to go into the high country back packing or take a pack trip.

At 10,000 feet you need a hooded sweat shirt around the nightly fire.

If and when you retire please try to leave the Valley for the month of August.

Right now at 7:30 pm it is 100 in Sacramento but only 71 at Mammoth Lakes and 64 at Bodega Bay.

I'm headed to Vancouver Island on Saturday to fish the kelp for Kings and Coho next week! Should be a comfortable 70F.

Stoked to use the new (to me) Sage Xi3 9 weight I bought from forum member Carl, mated with a new Galvan Grip bought from Al at Kiene's last week. This should also make a good Striper rod, or baby Tarpon rod for my trip later this year to Marathon (I'll need to get a floating line for it).

The Sage 990-4 Xi3 is a favorite rod of many here.

You go some good stuff planned John......
