We will be waking on Dillon Beach, camping at Lawson's Landing and maybe boat fishing on Tomales Bay.

Marilyn and I will be in our little View class C motor home at site #516

Lawson's is in a long drawn out transition now so they have limited camp spots with water.

No electricity and only Port-A-Potties.

The fishing/crabbing pier on Tomales Bay has been sadly condemned.

We have been going there for years so we are willing to still go there while they are in a big remodel.

Some day they will have about 200 modern RV camp sites with full hookups right on Tomales Bay.

For now is is pretty spartan but you can wade fish Dillon Beach or boat fish the Tomales Bay which is protected and shallow.

You can fish Tomales out of anything from a kayak, canoe, SUP, small boat or larger skiff.

In Tomales Bay are halibut, stripers, bay/red/rock crabs, and clams.

Dungeness crab season is roughly Nov through June so it is closed for the summer.

Tues/Wed/Thurs in Sacramento will be around 100 degrees for the high temp.

Tues/Wed/Thurs are Tomales Bay will be about 70 degrees for the high and mid-50s at night.

In about 1974 we had a trailer there. I was in fourth or fifth grade and crabbed on the pier a lot. Night and slack tide was a a good time to do it. In hindsight the crabbing was not that good but we would always get something. Rock crabs and small dungeness mostly but once in a while a legal dungeness. We got kelp crabs and 20 legged starfish also. We dug clams and boated to the point side of the bay once. We had the trailer for a couple of years and I was not happy when my parents sold it but it was fun while it lasted. I remember wanting to be a crab fisherman when I grew up. If that had worked out I might be in Davy Jones’ locker right now. Or maybe on that tv show.

Lots of my south Sac friends had permanent trailers there and commercial fished, mostly salmon.

I know some of the guys at Lawson's, Willie, Nat and Tim who are experts over there who I get coaching from.

It is nice to have a small boat for crabbing and fishing halibut and Stripers inside the Tomales Bay which is like a narrow 10 mile lake.

Drone video of Lawson's Landing at the mouth of Tomales Bay......a cool place.

The book Anglers Coast has some great parts about fishing in Tomales Bay.

Yes, I use to have a good run of Silver Salmon way up the bay on Paper Mill Creek.

There were lots more bait in there with Stripers too.

There were Stripers in the Russian River too.
