Many go over to the Pacific coast of California, Oregon and Washington....
Others go to the mountains, up to maybe 6,000 feet or more.
Some just head north....Canada, Alaska?
Where are you going?

Day tripping from the house on hotter days, wet wading the north fork of the Kern ( though due to the flows, not so much this year. )

To be avoided during peak visitation periods. :^(
..and if we want a real cool down, a few more miles up the road and over a 9,200' pass to the Kern plateau and beyond.

Then there's the Kaweah & the Kings drainages, if we want to get an early start. Long weekends and nearer home vacations, we're on the eastern Sierra lakes and streams.

Well you could go to Arizona for the week like I just did - it was averaging 111 every day all week! Makes Sac seem moderate.
