With all the Spey casters we have now for Northwestern Steelhead there is a desire to catch an Atlantic salmon.

July is a big month on the Northeaster part of North America for Atlantic salmon.

Some friends have been going there...Bruce Slightom, Jim Bare.

I’m going to the Margaree Monday, July 1 for 10 days. Conditions are shaping up for tides, moon and weather-mid to high 60’s with showers. They had a big pulse of water last weekend and it should be dropping into prime flows. I’m like a little kid on Christmas Eve, can hardly sleep. Been wanting a shot at these since picking up a rod in the ‘60’s. Caught a few landlocked ones in Hosmer Lake near Bend in early ‘70’s, very acrobatic fish. They would hang on edge of or in tules ambushing damsels. Great sight fishing.
