Makeshift rod holder

I have a 10 ft zodiac style raft. Wondering if y'all have any thoughts on
some makeshift rod holders?

I looked at Scotty Rods holders, but after you buy the mounts, holders
etc (x2 for each side), it looks a little pricey since I don't use the boat
that much.

Thoughts on a makeshift rod holder I could make for this type of boat?
Something simple that doesn't take much engineering.

2" diameter pvc tube 14" long with a slot for the reel to slide in to. U-Bolted to a 2x4 that is slightly wider than the boat and bungee cords to hold it in place. That is minimal but you can fancy it up if you want to.
