Spring Delta Fishing Report:

Spring Striper fishing on the Delta has been up & down but we have had some good days out there! That said, we have had a windy week which has made it very challenging to target the fish. Wind casting skills are currently at a premium. Water temperatures are nearing 60 degrees in various parts of the Delta & Stripers will likely spawn in the next few weeks. Last few times out I have I been averaging 10-20 fish, most fish we have been finding are smaller “schoolies” but 3-5lb fish are mixed in & the occasional larger fish can be found as well! For sub-surface Stripers I am using 1/0-3/0 rattle style Clouser flies in various color combinations. This year I have been running all over the Delta to make it happen so burning a lot of fuel & running hard out there. Get out fishing or book your Spring Delta adventure soon before it’s all over! I wrap up Spring Stripers come June 15, then turn my attention to Smallmouth Bass with light rods & poppers June 15-Sept 15, then back to Stripers Sept. 15- Dec. 24!

Thanks for the great report Bryce....

Nice to have my guide friends post here so we get a feel for what is happening out there.

**Hope to get my grandson out with Bryce this summer for Sacramento River/Delta Smallmouth bass on poppers.

Bryce guided us on the Rogue river out of Morrison's Lodge some years back and helped me improve my Spey game some.

Bryce has one of the nicer, faster boats on the Delta.......
