Sorry to have missed your openning, but we were pestering crappie (NICE crappie) at Clearlake. They were quite responsive to most any small baitfish immi tossed with a clear intermediate line.

I have know about Clear Lake and it's famous Spring Crappie fishery for over 50 years and have never tried it.

Maybe Lee can put up some more details/advise and we can have a Forum outing in the Spring of 2020?

No Smallmouth for me in years , I haven't bought a California license for maybe 4 years now ..... only fishing Baja .
