At what flow are you able to drift and fish the river safely? I’m not from the area but will be there this weekend visiting family and would like to do some fishing if I can.

The river is fishable right now. I saw a few fish being caught. Fish the edges, the fish are really close with high water. Visibility is close to 2 feet in some spots.

Looks like the Lower American River is flowing at 9,520 cfs and at 46.6 degrees at Fair Oaks, CA.
