Andy says that people who know how to fish or are with a good guide are catching nice winter run Steelhead.

The best fishing on the Lower American River is Sailor Bar to Sunrise area but he says it is a little crowed.

Andy prefers to fish just below that area but the fishing is a little slower but still good.

January/February is prime time for Winter Steelhead.
