If you actually need one, why not just buy a wide brim, waterproof hat instead?? I've fished many times over the years in the rain and used a hooded rain jacket (light and/or heavy weight) to cover a baseball cap. Never had a problem.

Darian,

Excellent ideal...my old Patagonian rain jacket had a slot for the bill of the base ball hat to slide into. My current Simms jacket doesn't have one. When I was a hunter I used a baseball cap also under my parka and it worked great for snow.

50 years ago we had no breathable rain coats or breathable waders.

All we had for long underwear and socks was cotton or wool.

We have it a lot better today.

That doohickey would last all but an hour on the Olympic Pennisula.. It doesn't matter what you wear the rain has a way of finding it's way in on the Hoh!

Now that I am homesick....

Now all you would need is a Pocket Fisherman in your hand and your set!! Lol....

Kind of reminds me of something the Flying Nun would wear in the rain!

If anyone ever sees me fishing with this thing, please, just put me out of my misery:p

Might be a way to keep other fishermen from crowding in on you.. .. I know if I saw someone wearing this on the river I would stay as far away as possible...

I keep half a sheet of 1/4" Plywood in the boat for rain. Now this gives me ideas for a head mount system!
