Anyone else going? http://www.kienesflyfishingtravel.com/cape-breton-island
This is a great price, about 1/3 cost of anywhere else in North America and more so for European destinations. I was worried it might be “shoulder season” but a couple calls confirmed it is not. It’s prime time for 1st run and less likely to suffer low/warm water conditions that can and have occurred in the past. Fish average 4-12#’s but several over 30#’s in this time frame were taken last year. Also good sea-trout (Browns), specs (sea-run Brookies), rainbows in lakes in the 10# and better categories if river blows and Striped Bass.
I’m planning on staying over 2 or 3 extra days (9-12th) to pursue some of the above options. If anyone is interested in sharing expenses past July 9th, please contact me. I have a car rental booked, lots of lodging options available, some with kitchens and laundry but reservations should be made soon, guides not required but always an option and very cheap compared to what we pay here ($200-225/day in USD).
All Nova Scotia is public water and access.
