Jr and I fished the un-cola side only strippin junk. It’s definely cooling off and you should be prepared. Conditions were nice and not too many people out. Overcast and some sprinkles. Jr was fishing his 7wt with full size dungeons and I was fishing my 5wt with a teeny 130 and mini dungeons. The 5wt performed nicely and handled the streamers perfectly. After I saw a few of the fish Jr hooked a 5wt might be a little under gunned. The Truckee hand not released her bounty to Jr and he is hooking many fish but just can’t seal the deal. He has been out several times with same results and he’s getting a little discouraged. He hooked a solid 24” brown and turned him down stream and popped the hook. I saw the whole thing as I was getting ready to help land it. Jr hooked about 3 significant fish and I just practiced casting. We will try to get out a few more times and hopefully we both will close the deal.
