Kids are back in school and some are hunting now so less folks in the outdoors.

Fall steelhead and salmon fishing is in full swing in most "long" rivers.

Lower reaches of the Rogue, Klamath, Trinity are all good.

Deshutes and Grand Ronde should be starting.

Umpqua is always worth a try.

Time for the Clearwater river.

Fall is wonderful in the Delta for Stripers and LMB/SMB. Sep starts off with Oct better and Nov tops.

Mid Elevation trout in lakes and streams is starting with nights in the 30s.....

The Pacific coast fishes well in the Fall with lower winds and less people.

The flows on the Lower Sac are coming down so that is where I will be for the next few weeks until the Trinity starts

The Lower Sac has an amazing population of very large wild Rainbow trout.....one of Nor Cal's best big fish destinations.

Andy Guibord and friends are heading down to the bottom of the Trinity to look for some early steelhead.

Herb Burton's guide group will be down in the Hoopa Valley now too.

I just got back from the Klamath, lots of Kings and Steelhead just came in. Wanted to stay, but this damn Delta Fire is getting to close to home.
It really should be great Fall fishing on the Klamath!

Heading just a bit further north to Alaska. I just can’t stay away! Should be lots and lots of steelhead, a few Silvers, and maybe some good trout fishing if I can pull myself away from the coastal steelhead. Can’t wait!

Upper Rogue October 7-11, might jump over to the Williamson for a day, couple days on the Trinity after that on the way home.

For the first time I will be fishing the Walker, Hot and Owens after October 14. I plan on two days minimum and believe I can sneak in three.
Any insights are welcome from those that have been there.
