Fall (Sept/Oct/Nov) is the time when the days get shorter, the sun is lower as it goes across the sky and the temperatures start to fall.
It is a favorite time for many fly fishers......
Trout in mid elevation streams and lakes seem to get more active coming to the surface and shorelines to feed.
Stripers come in from the Pacific beaches and Bays to over winter in the Delta where they feed on Threadfin Shad, juveniles of the warm water species, crayfish, juvenile salmon and Asian Minnow. Oct/Nov/Dec is all good.
Fall Steelhead come in from the ocean along with King salmon to spawn up in our rivers and hatcheries. Sept/Oct/Nov
Fall is the second season in the tropic as as well........Oct/Nov
The weather in moderate usually with low winds....
Kids are back in school and some are hunting too.
Let me know if you need any help or inspiration to go somewhere exciting.
