Sept/Oct/Nov is the "Second Season" or Fall Season for Fly fishers.

Larger trout stream cool off and get going, especially in Ovtober.

Many mid elevation trout lakes cool off and fish come up shallow to feed up for winter.

Valley reservoirs cool off and the water column turns over and the Threadfin shad are on top being eaten by gamefish.

Striper are good in the Delta in the Fall.

Steelhead come into the long rivers in Nor Cal, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia.

Salmon come into many river to spawn.

The Fall is so good for fly fishers because some are hunting and the kids are back in school which makes for less people in the outdoors.
