Roseburg Oregon

I will be travelling to Roseburg, OR with my wife and kid in early Sept to visit family, and I'm hoping to escape to fish for a few hours. If anyone has some tips or pointers for me it would be greatly appreciated. I understand that steelhead are the main attraction up there, but I usually fish streams for trout and I'm probably not set up well for steelhead or patient enough. Any suggestions for trout or smallmouth wading or from shore? It sounds like that would be my best bet to get on the water and possibly get some action.

Probably plenty of info in the pm, but both the South Umpqua and the lowerUqua (Elton) fish well for smallies. Better access on the SU, and some parks that are closer to Roseburg.
