Well, it is so hot here in the Valley that we don't go outside after noon.

Traditionally families go over to the cool Pacific coast to get some fresh cool air.

This is time to catch surf perch wading with a fly rod.

Some are getting Stripers wading too.

It is nice to eat some fresh sea food too.

Others will go up to the higher elevations in the Sierras over 6,000 feet to get cooler.

This is a great time to do some high country back packing or a horse pack trip for Golden trout.

Many go to Idaho/Montana in August for some really good trout fishing.

August is good in Canada's higher elevation.

August is a prime month in Alaska.

Let me know if you need any help planning a trip anywhere.

As we like to say, why do they call it tourist season if we can't shoot them? Bring on angry August.

Imagine the first summer in Idaho/Montana after the movie, "A River Runs Through It".

I heard it was 'Tourist Season' on steroids........

A good fly shop joke is when we are having a slow day/week/month/summer someone would say, "We need another movie".
