Lake Manzanita Camping

Any recommendations for camping close to the lake but not the camp ground which looks like it’s fully booked for my dates.

There's another campground in the park up the 89 from Manzanita, it's a 20 minute drive or so. BTW, the campground by the lake has two loops that are first come first served (no reservations) - loop B and D if I remember correctly.

If you leave Lassen and head north on 44/89 towards Burney/Susanville there are lots of campgrounds along the way to Burney. Many of them along the banks of Hat Creek which offers some decent small stream fishing in the mornings or evenings.

There is also a camp ground at Battle Creek Reservoir. The dirt into the camp ground reservoir is a little bumpy or it was the last time I was in there several years ago.
