Burney Creek is frigid. If the fall didn't kill him the cold might have.

I jumped 80 ft once......
That was too much for me.
Slightly wrong entry angle can kill.
Part of thinning the herd.

Is this a ploy to get folks to subscribe to the East Bay Times? I can't view the article without a window offering 3 months for $0.99...

Lost a family friend jumping off the the rock at the west end of Lake Berryessa. Jumped off, didn't come up. Seems like it was a angle thing mentioned by Jim. High dive was my limit.

Rescued a fellow swim team member after an 80" jump off the rig on the end of Elwood Pier back in the Seventies. He was pretty screwed up....he later died from an embolism in the North Sea as a commercial diver. Some people just can't be safe and don't want to take up to much room, live on the edge and some fall off.
