Years ago it was believed that Stripers where only caught on flies in the evening, night and early morning.
30 years ago they only fly fished for Stripers at night.
Back then only a small group of people fly fished for Stripers in Nor Cal.
Locally Al Perryman, Cal Guin, Jim Potter, Al Fong and Larry Cullins were some of he guys who fly fished Stripers in the rivers at
night from small anchored prams.
I know Hal Jansen also fly fished for Stripers way back then.
Some fly fished in San Francisco Bay.
Larry Green wrote some articles about fishing the Bay.
I know Dan Blanton was fly fishing Stripers in the Bay.
Nobody fly fished the Delta for Stripers 30 years ago.
