The 3 reels below were made by Hardy Bros. in Alnwick England in the middle 1990's . They combine the classic looks of the Lightweight series of reels but stand out/above with a gorgeous color and an extremely useful palming rim. They are easily switched from left hand to right hand retrieve by flipping the pawls and reversing the nickel silver single screw line guide. The color might show a few nicks from shelf life. Each reel has an adjustable click pawl drag with that original Hardy sound.

At one time many of us in the industry had a full set of these great reels.

503L, 504L, 505L, 506, 506L, 507, 508, 509......

If you want click-n-pawl these are some of the best ever made.

Made by Hardy in England for Sage.

Fully machined alloy bar stock, anodized finish, nickel silver fittings.

They were like a high end Hardy Marquis series reel.

Actually Abel Reel Company made some real fine click-n-pawl reels too.

Over the years Orvis has produced some very high quality click-n-pawl reels.

What makes them so fun to fish in my opinion is the ability to palm the rim to fight a fish.
Very few of the Hardy models allow you to pal the rim. This one does it with elegnace to boot!

I fish the 504 size the most. It seems to fit everything I put it on. The best 4wt reel I have ever found.

I have 3 of the 506 reels in my collection also, all 3 with extra spools. They are my favorite for anything 6-7. Cheers, Brian
