A buddy and I are planning a road trip thurs through sun next week over Tioga pass and down 395 . I figured why not pack some rods but I don't know if it will be worth it ,or if it is still a bit early . I just want to play around a bit and see if I could pick up a trout or two, any thoughts? Thanks.

I will keep it simple. Yes it is worth it to bring the rods.

Hell yah...there is always an opportunity to fish and it starts with the possibility to do by having your gear along.
