I will be in Eugene week after next and will have a day or two of down time. I am considering the South Umpqua for smallies (a favorite flyrod fish of mine) or the local Willamete / McKenzie area for red bands hoping for a summer run as a bonus fish.
I will be wade fishing. Any suggestions?
Much Appreciated

I recommend driving up to the McKenzie River. There is wadeable wader from McKenzie Bridge campground & upstream. Check with the Caddis Fly Shop in Eugene. Tight lines!

Agree with ryeflyguy, you’re a long haul from the South Umpqua. McKenzie is by far the best bet (be careful where you park), you’re actually closer to the Cascade Lakes area (another great bet) than the SU.
