I found this disturbing post on Dan Blanton's bulletin board:

I have been making trips to Louisiana for the last several years. Each time, I have seen an increasing number of No Trespassing signs. Louisiana is the only state where landowners claim ownership of tidal influencing coastal waters. As more signs are posted and public access to the marsh becomes limited, few anglers will have a reason to visit places such as Hopedale, Delacroix, Venice,& Port Sulfur. This eventually will hurt so many people in southern Louisiana that depend on the fishing industry. The Fishing guides, hotels and restaurants all need a healthy stream of visiting anglers to come to the southern Louisiana. Take a look at this video above and consider checking out the Louisiana Sportsman Coalition website to keep the marsh accessible for fisherman.

I have lived down here now for the last 6 winter/springs. Between the erosion and increase in no trespassing signs it pretty sad. LASC put up a great fight and they aren't done but its going to take some time to get this mess fixed.
