Hi,

Has anyone fished Lower Sac lately? Is it still good? I am thinking of going there with a pontoon boat this week and would appreciate any insights.

Thanks,

Tom

Fishing on the LS is still very good! The upper stretch is now closed.

Have fun!

Normally April and May are big months with tons of caddis.

October is very good too.

If the flows are good they fish it year round.

I just fished it this past Saturday. Caught lots of nice strong fish. Tons of drift boats out as well

I would say good to very good. The great thing is flows are 3200 CFS so you don't need a drift boat. Plenty of wadeable water but you will get into and land more fish if you have a drift boat or hire a guide. Lots of PMD's, Caddis, and still some sucker spawn eggs. You find some shallow water and on overcast days you can get into some dry fly action. I can't imagine the flows stay this way for very much longer so watch closely. They will be bumped up as irrigation kicks off for ag.

Not far off. With the rain stopping and hit weather, fields will be drying up soon and rice flood up won't be far behind. Early May it will no longer be very wadeable.

I'm going out Friday.
