I spent a lot of time on Lake Trinity as a kid camping and water skiing. My Pops just loved it up there. When he retired he got out of the Bay Area as fast as he could and moved to Lewiston. Rush Creek ran right through his back yard. I was always a gear guy until around the turn of the century. One summer day I decided I wanted to fly fish. I went and saw Herb at the Trinity Fly Shop and he set me up with my first 5wt. A Cortland. Gave me a few casting tips on the lawn there, gave me a few flies and told me to go to the fly only waters. I landed at least a dozen fish and lost as many more. All in about 2 hours time. I had never been hooked up so often, ever! I was hooked! It is a very special place to me and I have started sharing it with my boys. I hope someday they realize how special this place is!

I love it. Great story and great to see someone hanging out with their kids on the river. Kids are the best. Brings back some good memories for me. Also great to get to know other folks on the board. Thanks for sharing the story and the pictures.

My 22 year old grand daughter learned how to cast last night in about 15 minutes?

Not perfect, naturally, but amazing.

Will try to get her into a fish soon.
