Matt Peterson and Michael Hellmair, 2 fish biologists from Fishbio Environmental located in Chico, Ca. Sat down with us to discuss the life cycles of a juvenile trout, and at what point the fish "decides" to become either a Steelhead or remain a trout. We also cover the variety of factors that can lead to the length of time Steelhead stay in freshwater, such as food resources and temperature.

It was very much a mind-blowing episode and I learned a ton talking to these guys.
