The Tsiu River is one of the top places to go for fresh run wild Silver salmon up to 20 pounds.

Fresh Silvers take a fly like a Striper and fight like a Steelhead.

We took groups there for many years and it was pioneered by local fire fighter Joe Shirshac.

We used #8 or 9 weight fly rod with mostly a weight forward floating line.

Stripping a Poly Wog floating fly on top is the ultimate when the conditions were right.

The river's tide water is all sand and very shallow so it is a true experience.

When the high tide came up schools of fresh Silver salmon would flood into the little river.

We like early September for a good timing.

Our friend Ken Nordest landed over 70 in one day.

Alaskan Wilderness Outfitting is the place we stayed right on the ocean near the mouth of the river

They usually have a booth at the ISE Show in Sacramento in January.
