Soggy day on the water today. Sac is at 500 cfs and rising. Rained last night and today.
But rain is suppose to let up starting tomorrow so hopefully the river will not get too big.
I expect the highest flows to show up sometime tomorrow morning.
Went looking for a new spot for the BWO hatch. Found one run that was hard to get to and hard to fish thanks to the willows in the back cast but it did have a fair number of fish rising to the hatch for about 90 minutes. Hooked up with a 3 or 4 of them, nice little 10-12” Upper Sac fish. Then decided to try another spot just a bit down stream looking for more back cast room. Found another nice run that was much easier to get to but did not have any fishing rising in it, so we switched to a nymphing set up and missed a couple of grabs then hooked up on this fish.
Overall only a few fish hooked today but then again we were only on the water for about 3 hours.
