View Full Version : Oct/Nov is a very special time for fly fishing

The weather is cooling, especially at night and more so in the higher elevations.

For some reason the fish always seem to be more aggressive this time of year and the weather is so nice to be out in.

Right now all the mid-elevation lakes and streams are getting better for trout.

The Delta is good for Stripers and LMB.

The Pacific coastal surf and inshore can be good too.

This is salmon and steelhead time with good weather too.

After this special time, the Fall, we get lots of cold weather but we still have fly fishing for winter Steelhead.

Pyramid Lake in Nevada fishes late Fall, all winter and into early Spring for giant Cutthroat trout.

Some fish low elevation reservoirs in the winter for planted trout.

Got any plans?

Bill, I agree with you this is my favorite time of the year, I am leaving this Wednesday morning to fish the east side for 5 days, can't wait. Stuart
