The Ocean has been nice to us for the last few days. Sonoma Coast has blessed us with some of the finest table fare in the world.

Sounds good Gregg

What are you favorite timing (months) for near shore rock fish with a fly?

Anytime the ocean lays down enough for us to get into shallow water comfortably, is prime time. We found suspended Blacks up to 5 pounds last week on every cast for over a hour! If this site wasn't so GD hard to post multiple images I'd show some great pictures. Visit my site www.featherdogoutfitters.com go to Photos, Fly fishing and check out some of the Rock fish we're getting. Also Bill, please call anytime for a spot on my boat as my guest.

Gregg

If I wanted to go over to the CA coast for a month with my RV and boat what would be a good location and what month would you choose for fly fishing for rock fish?

We do like Lawson's Landing and have friends there.

My old friend Fred Gordon who guides out of Dunsmuir for many years has been going to Shelter Cove for many years with a skiff to catch rock fish in August, mostly because his trout guiding in Nor Cal sucks then.

I'll be fishing a kayak tournament this month out of Ocean Cove and they added a fly division for the biggest rock fish. I'm hoping to win this one, or at least place. If anyone is interested in fishing this event it is really cheap and tons of fun.

I would camp at Bodega and make a quick run north.
