I've been wondering this myself, Bill... thinking of heading down after school on my Thursdays to check it out, though I'm not sure where any of the good water is anymore after the months of high water this past winter. All the usual spots are totally different now. I'm hoping the silence on here regarding the halfpounder bite is a good thing. Maybe folks are being tight lipped about the fishing?

Bill, I picked up 3 in the past 2-4 weeks. Went out last 3 days , nada. I've been Geting out on the water by 6:30 to beat the "splash & giggle"! Rafters . Hopefully it picks up with some some cooler weather coming and the flows decrease in October.

On Saturday I fished near Watt Ave. and Riverbend....nothing. On Monday, I fished Watt, Gristmill, Sailor Bar and Paradise...nothing. Everybody I talked too on the river said they hadn't had any luck. Not even a bump. Down below Gristmill I saw 2 guys in a drift boat landing something with a net, but it was too far away to see what it was. But I imagine since they were using a net, it was a steelhead.

Spey guru Jeff Putnam told me a good looking run at this flow was lower Gristmill access.
Today 3550 cfs and 61.7 degrees
Lots of salmon moving through the lower river today near Sac State.

Was out Sunday around el Manto. Hooked a mallard hen briefly on a skated muddler, had a merganser chase a comet. So, good water fowling, lousy steelheading. No signs of fish (steel or salmon) either.

Looks like flows might drop in October.
